FREELANCE FLUTTER DEVELOPER / INDEPENDENT PRODUCT ENGINEERING
AVAILABLE FOR WORKFreelance · Contract · Full-time

Flutter development for products that need to ship.

I’m Arun Kumar, a Flutter-focused product engineer based in Kochi, Kerala. I help founders, businesses and engineering teams worldwide build new applications, extend existing products and ship complex features across mobile, Smart TV and connected backend systems.

Android · iOS · Smart TV · API integrations

01 · WHAT I CAN HELP WITH

From first implementation to ongoing product work

Build and maintain Flutter applications for Android and iOS, connect apps to REST APIs, and implement production features such as subscriptions, payments, messaging, notifications and real-time audio/video.

I can also work on Smart TV applications where remote-control navigation, playback flows and large-screen interaction need careful attention.

02 · ENGAGEMENT

Freelance, contract and team collaboration

Engagements can focus on a defined feature, a project milestone, an existing app that needs attention, or longer-term development support. Scope, timeline and handover expectations should be agreed before work begins.

I can collaborate with an existing design, backend or QA team, or take ownership of the Flutter implementation within a clearly defined scope.

03 · ENGINEERING APPROACH

Build around the actual product requirements

My work spans Flutter UI and state management, API integration, platform-specific behavior, third-party SDKs, release preparation and debugging issues that appear in real usage.

Where a project has an existing codebase, I prefer to understand its architecture and risks before proposing changes instead of promising a rewrite by default.

ENGAGEMENT MODELS / HOW WE CAN WORK TOGETHER

Ways to work together

Pick the arrangement that fits your stage — from a single deliverable to ongoing capacity alongside your team.

Most work is quoted per project or per milestone before it starts, so there are no surprises. A fixed price suits a well-defined scope, while a monthly retainer or day rate suits products that keep evolving. I will always confirm what is included, what is assumed and how changes are handled before we begin — and I am happy to sign an NDA before reviewing your code or product details.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Working together

Can you build a Flutter app from an existing idea or specification?

Yes. I can help implement a new Flutter application from an agreed specification, connect it to APIs, integrate relevant services and prepare the app for release.

Can you work with an existing Flutter codebase?

Yes. Work can include bug fixing, feature development, third-party integrations, performance investigation and ongoing maintenance after reviewing the codebase and requirements.

Do you work remotely with teams outside Kerala?

Yes. I am based in Kochi, Kerala, India and can collaborate remotely with product teams and clients across India and internationally.

What kinds of Flutter products have you worked on?

My portfolio includes Android and iOS applications, Smart TV streaming apps, loyalty and booking products, social platforms, and real-time audio/video features.

How do you usually start a freelance project?

After a short call or written brief I review the scope, target platforms, backend readiness and timeline, then suggest an approach, milestones and next steps before implementation begins.

How is pricing structured?

Most projects are quoted per project or per milestone before work starts. A fixed price suits a well-defined scope, while a monthly retainer or day rate suits products that keep evolving.

Can you sign an NDA before I share details?

Yes. I am happy to sign an NDA before reviewing your codebase, product details or internal documentation.

Who owns the code and intellectual property?

Unless agreed otherwise, all deliverables and source code are handed over to you on completion and final payment.

Do you provide support after launch?

Yes. Short post-launch support for release issues is included, and ongoing maintenance can be arranged as a separate retainer.

How do you handle communication and updates during a project?

You get regular written updates and demos at agreed milestones, plus a shared board or issue tracker so progress stays visible. Async updates work well across time zones.
